Screen Printing

Screen Printing is a bookable resource, open to all students after undertaking a short induction led by one of your Print Technicians.

Bonington Print Room 144 provides screen printing onto fabric with procion, acid and disperse dyes, sublimation, and other printing methods such as discharge, devore, and surface manipulation techniques.
Booking your induction
Screen Printing Inductions are held at regular intervals, last around 2 hours and located in Bonington 144. Inductions are compulsory and you will not be permitted to use the resources before being inducted.
Students can sign up to the next induction session by clicking on the button below.
What do you need to bring?
Sample and final fabrics, all papers, masking tape, your own artwork to expose onto your screen (printed onto tracing paper), acrylic System 3 paint for paper print only, small mixing pots from the Bonington shop or check with a technician for empty reusable pots (as we tend to keep some in the print room), spoons and mixers.
Artwork for exposing screens
Making your screen will require an image to expose on to it. For this you will need to get your Artwork digitally printed onto Tracing Paper. Once printed this will be used in the exposure process, transferring your artwork onto the screen. The 'Printing Service' can be used to print your artwork onto tracing paper.
You can access more info on the Printing Service page by Clicking Here or you can upload your artwork to be printed on Tracing Paper using the Print Dropbox by clicking the button below.
