NEON

The Neon Laser Printer has a maximum print size of SRA4. It uses fluorescent toner to generate CMYK artworks into Neon colours including Orange, Pink, Green, Yellow or Blue. Black is also an option if your neon design required it.

Tips
Keep away from using large blocks of neon colour in your design (for example a big 20cm solid square of Neon Pink) as these can produce slight 'banding' marks and you may not get a consistent distribution of neon toner on your paper that you hoped for. This is a common flaw for most types of laser printers.
A4 Neon Prints are charged 25p per side and 30p for SRA4
Paper - 100gsm is provided but the Neon Printer can handle paper from 80 - 300gsm if you wish to provide your own.
Acetate - If you print neon on Acetate you have the option to 'back with white'. This gives the neon toner something to sit on, helping the colours to be stronger and less transparent.
If this option is desired, please realise that when backing a design with White, black will not be available as a colour. The Neon Printer only prints Black OR White at one time.
UV Reactive
Coloured Neon Ink reacts to Ultra Violet (UV light) or what is also known as a 'Black light'. It turns the colour to a bright almost reflective giving them a fluorescent glow.
This is demonstrated below by running a small UV torch over the images within a low light room, one printed on Black paper and one printed on White paper stock.
Some colours reflect more than others, Blue being the weaker of the 6, Black not reflecting at all.
Although making your own swatches is good practice and a relatively quick process, the neon swatches along with more, such as 'Clear Ink' which is created using the Clear Ink Printer, can be downloaded by clicking on the button below.
